Shift Supervisor (Off-Shift) Shift Supervisor (Off-Shift) Millard Refrigerated Services Brampton, ON SUMMARY Millard Refrigerated Services, a growth oriented, privately held company, focused on temperature controlled distribution, and is seeking candidates for a Supervisor to work the Off-Shift. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees, and have the ability to address and resolve complaints, at the same time motivating and encouraging employees. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Directly supervises 15 to 25 employees in the Operations •Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. •Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. •Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards. •Directs food handlers and production personnel in sanitary and pest-control procedures. •Attends daily planning and staff meeting. •Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions. •Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies. •Routes reports to designated plant personnel. •Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. •Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. •Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. •Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. •Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. •Maintains time and production records. •Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. •Performs activities of workers supervised. •Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS •1-3 years warehouse experience required. •2 + years as a supervisor preferred •High school diploma •Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. •Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
